As a way of dealing with complex change around the midlife point, I started drawing blind self-portraits. It's my attempt to make inquiries into my changing identity, purpose, intentions, ability, and social expectations around femininity, female body, etc. In the subsequent stage of the project, I'm examining how the expressive lines and marks can be explored further through the printmaking processes and media. It's a play with a metaphoric meaning of a matrix as a female body while the title references glitch feminism, which sees glitches and erros of social and digital systems as potential spaces for liberation and transformation.
