Aquatint and soft ground on Somerset Paper

h: 26 w: 41 d: 1 (cms).

With this piece I hoped to create an image that represented both a split second in time and an ancient collective memory. Images of the natural world, like this wave breaking under a night sky, live in our psyche because they are timeless and part of mans experience since prehistory. I’m drawn to the fragility and power of our world and how we as humans are part of that. I aim to create art work that’s poetic and meditative response to this idea of interconnectedness and vast time. This piece is made from two separate plates which join in the centre, as I wanted the two halves to come together like snapshots or a frame in a film sequence

£300 (As exhibited.)
