Tetrapack

h: 30 w: 42 d: 1 (cms).

The submitted piece symbolises change, showing different stages of sea ice conditions, transitioning from an almost-solid, bright surface to a dark, almost-open ocean with only little sea ice left. The print is made using tetrapack, printed with oil ink on paper.

Etching with aquatint

h: 30 w: 21 d: 1 (cms).

This line and aquatint etching on zinc shows an iceberg drifting in the polar ocean. I use aquatint to highlight the contrast between the bright, light-catching surfaces of the ice and its shadowed sides, with the dark ocean and sky around it. Printed using oil inks on paper.

£150 (As exhibited.)
