Aquatint with silkscreen monotype

A aquatint in a variable edition of 7. I made the initial sketches on the Isles of Harris and Lewis just after a Gale force storm. It is printed on Somerset velvet 300 gm This work has no line etch to retain the movement of the sea. Each varies in the colour and tone of the inking so individual photos are available. The seas were massive for two days after the storm affording the opportunity to video, photograph and paint plein air.

Etching with Aquatint and chine colle

The third of a trilogy of aquatints highlighting the plight of the Bee. This lone bee was found in the corner of my studio window. I hope it had already had a useful and happy life among my sweet-peas and lavender . on 300gsm Hannemhulle paper and the chine colle is hand painted Japanese paper to ensure the best lightfast colour possible
