‘Spring at Blists Hill I’ explores my direct ancestral links to the Severn Gorge and it’s industrial past. Sat sketching in the Blists Hill Valley today I find myself listening to the song of birds long related to those which sang when my past family toiled in this location. The print captures the contrast of springtime colours with the underlying traces of a harsh industrial history.
