The inspiration for this work comes from a fable from Lafontaine, tittled Le renard et le corbeau. In this story, the fox, trough flattery, manages to steal a piece of cheese from the crow. In my interpretation of the story, I wanted the crow to fight back, to show the fighting spirit of these birds.

The red tailed hawk is a bird perfectly adapted for the hunt. Its talons are thick and resistant to rodent bites, its eyes sharp enough to spot prey well before they are seen, and its strong and powerful wings can easily lift most of the small mammals it hunts. Against such a competent predator, what can a hare do but pray for survival?
