Art is a way to express the human soul without words. It is not only a means of aesthetic expression, but also has the ability to communicate and share indescribable and deeply personal experiences that are often beyond the reach of words. Each work of art carries a trace of the author's creative process and personal experience, which is transferred into a form that appeals to the senses and emotions of the viewer. Art and the education of art is not only about acquiring skills, it is a complex process of continuous learning, which includes not only the development of technical abilities, but also the exploration of new horizons of thought and creativity. I am the personality with extensive academic and professional activities in the art world. Between 2006 and 2011, I studied at the University of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava at the Department of Graphics and Other Media under the guidance of doc. Vojtěch Kolenčík, Akad.mal. During her studies, she participated in several exchange study stays focused on free drawing, graphic design and new media at the University of Applied Arts in Prague, at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow (PL) and The University of Plymouth (GB). Her progress also included participation in artistic residencies - Open set Design Art Residency Rotterdam (NL), Lithography Steinwerk Symposium in Leipzig (DE), Open Air Art Residency Kunsthalle Krems an der Donau (AT). In 2017, I completed my doctoral studies under the supervision of Prof. Ing. arch. akad. Arch. Ivan Petelen, Ph.D. at the Slovak Technical University and Design in Bratislava. From 2021, she works as a teacher at the Tomáš Bata University in Zlín, where she teaches Figurative drawing at the Faculty of Multimedia Communications. In addition to teaching activities, se organizes art teambuildings for companies and cooperates with the Faculty of Architecture and Design at STU in Bratislava.
I am the artist with a wide range of activities, work in drawing, book design, illustration, free graphics, scenography and art management, not only in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, but also abroad. My works are characterized by a metaphysical character, often moving on a fine line between reality and imagination. In my work, I focuse on a combination of different graphic techniques, including printing from a height, printing from depth and printing from the surface, which allows me to create complex and multidimensional images. In my Portfolio, as well as at the exhibitions, you can find a series of graphics inspired by the work of the Slovak author and poet Mila Haugová – A doe looking at the North Pole. They are works that go beyond the boundaries of concrete expression and open up space for deeper reflections and hints that draw us into the mystery. In these works, an encounter with the universe takes place and the very essence of existence is explored, accompanied by the motif of the sky. In my Portfolio I present a series of graphic works called Touch Cubes and Rooms. The artist works with free graphics that actively interact with the space around them. The cycle deals with the theme of personal boundaries and touch surfaces, examines the comfort zone of an individual in his relationship with himself and the environment. The contrast between organic and geometric elements plays a key role here. The walls of the rooms, virtual rooms, are depicted as falling, disrupting conventional perspective and thus creating doubt and a sense of disruption.
I also drew inspiration from the beauty of nature and the cycle of life when creating graphics. My work Samia Cynthia reflects the ephemerality of existence and at the same time the power of transformation and change. She further developed the idea in a number of works based on the key themes of the book Postcards from invisible places by writer Martina Straková. Overall, Lívia Kožušková's work is an interesting mixture of abstraction and concrete motifs that invite the viewer to think more deeply about the essence of existence and human nature. Also figurative drawing is an artistic way of capturing the human figure using lines and shapes. It is a technique that allows artists to express the beauty, strength and emotional depth of the human body. One of the main aspects of figurative drawing is the ability to capture the anatomical details and movements of the human body. An artist must be able to observe and understand the structure of the body in order to create a believable and impressive depiction of a character. This requires a precise hand and attention to detail, but also a sense of proportion and composition. Figurative drawing is not only about reproducing the external appearance, but also about capturing the inner state of a person. Artists often use a character's movements, gestures, and expressions to convey emotions, moods, and thoughts. In this way, figural drawing transcends physical reality and becomes a vehicle for expressing the human spirit and identity. Today, figure drawing is still a vibrant and inspiring art form. Artists experiment with different media, techniques and styles to express their thoughts and ideas about the human body and its meaning in the world.
