Louise uses the local environment in her work, be that the landscape, wildlife or her own garden. She generally captures things or places that have taken her fancy during walks with her dog or simply while enjoying her own property in a Staffordshire Moorlands village. 

Technique and the craft is also extremely important to Louise and with each print she strives to improve on this aspect of her work. With linocutting and printing involving so many tiny variables that can make or break an image she understands the importance of taking your time and trying to perfect each step, regardless of the excitement spurring her on to see the final piece! 

Louise was taught linocutting as a child by her friends Mother and was so taken by the technique that she revisited it later in her life, reading and watching everything on hand to improve her skills. 

Louise is now a professional printmaker and member of the prestigious Peak District Artisans, a collective of professional, hand-picked artists with the Earl of Burlington as their patron.

Having exhibited both locally and further afield, Louise is constantly excited by showing her work to new audiences and bringing fresh images to old clients.

Louise feels that so much is possible in printmaking and that to scratch the surface is an addiction for the rest of your life!
