Linocut Printmaking

My Ethereal Heron is a celebration of one of my favorite and elegant animals, the heron, via stylized 3 color linocut print. This artwork was created by cutting a linoleum block to 10 pieces, and then printing like a puzzle, by hand. I love creating "floating moments" in my art, that are not set in a traditional scenes, and my Ethereal Heron is designed in that manner.

Linocut printmaking & hand embroidery
h: 35 w: 28 d: 1 (cms).
My linocut print "Cat In Spring Time" was love letter to my favorite season, the spring. Printed in the traditional technique of linoleum printmaking, and finished with hand embroidered flowers on top. The sleeping cat is about to awake from his winter slumber, and welcome the spring. The embroidered flowers are light and airy and are hovering above the Cat, and are working with perfect contrast to the solid shapes and “heaviness” of the linocut.
