I am a Western Australian printmaker whose practice explores moments of stillness, light, and connection to place. This 7-colour screenprint was inspired by a photograph I took on a rural property in 2024. Late in the afternoon, as the cool breeze moved through the bush, a herd of black steers approached me, pausing in unison beneath a glowing golden tree—illuminated by the last sun while the rest of the land faded into shadow. I first explored the image as a photo etching but knew I could push the colour and light further through screenprinting. Layering seven carefully mixed inks, I built up the warmth and contrast to capture the quiet drama of that fleeting moment. This work reflects my interest in how printmaking can translate memory, light, and landscape into something both structured and emotive.
