Statement

I create intricately detailed landscapes that explore themes of home, solitude, and our connection to the natural world. My work is inspired by the vastness of the Canadian landscapes where I grew up and the rugged beauty of the Cornish coastline where I live now. I aim to convey not only the physical attributes but also the emotional resonance of the landscapes. My prints serve as windows into contemplative scenes, the intricate details holding the viewer’s attention and fostering a sense of introspection and reflection.

I'm a printmaker working primarily in relief print. I love the whole process of printmaking, especially wood engraving. I find the process to be extremely meditative, with the repetition of movement and attention to small detail. I can get lost for hours engraving a block and slowly seeing the image come to life.
